LinkedIn Sales Navigator vs Lockley: which suits a small UK B2B team?
Sales Navigator finds people and tracks job and company changes on LinkedIn; Lockley finds UK companies with a public-record reason to call. They answer different questions.

LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Lockley answer different questions. Sales Navigator helps you find and track people on LinkedIn: who holds a role, who changed jobs, and who you are connected to. Lockley starts from UK public records and gives you a short list of companies with a dated, linked reason to call. A team that already knows which companies it wants and needs the right person will lean on Sales Navigator. A team that does not know whom to call today will lean on Lockley. Many teams could reasonably use both.
What Sales Navigator does well
Third-party reviews describe three paid tiers: Core, Advanced and Advanced Plus. Core covers advanced search with many filters on role, seniority, headcount and geography, saved prospects and accounts, alerts when a prospect changes job, and monthly InMail credits. Advanced adds team features such as showing which colleagues are connected to a prospect. Advanced Plus adds CRM integration and is sold by quote. Reviewers also note that it has no native export of prospects or email outreach. Prices vary across the sources we found and change, so check LinkedIn's own page before deciding.
Its main strength is people data and relationships. If you want to message a head of operations at a named firm, or see who in your team has a warm route to them, it is built for that.
What Lockley does
Lockley reads Companies House (officers, charges, filings), Contracts Finder and Find a Tender, job postings from Adzuna, planning registers and each company's own website every night. It gives a small B2B sales team a short list of companies to call each morning, each with the public record that says why now. Each finding links to the record. A 9am email brief carries the top three companies in full, with Call, Tomorrow and Pass working from the email. It starts with a free scan of your own website, which builds a private page of companies worth calling for you. Coverage at launch is the United Kingdom.
Side by side
Who each suits
Sales Navigator suits a seller who works relationships on LinkedIn, whose target accounts are already chosen, and who values seeing job changes and mutual connections. Lockley suits a founder or small team that needs each morning's choice of whom to call made for them, with a reason they can check. It is narrower than Sales Navigator: it covers UK companies only and does not give you a person's profile.
Using them together
A practical split is to let Lockley choose the company and the reason, then use Sales Navigator to find the right person and a warm route to them. The reason to call comes from the register; the introduction comes from the network.
