How do I find UK employers hiring warehouse staff this week?
Filter dated job postings to the last seven days, group them by employer, then check each on Companies House and look for a second record before you ring.

To find UK employers hiring for warehouse roles this week, search job postings by date and role, group them by employer, and then check each employer on Companies House before you ring. A posting tells you a company has a vacancy; the register tells you whether it is active, who runs it and whether this is unusual growth. For a recruiter, the useful call is to the employer that has just posted several roles or its first in a function, not the one that has had the same advert up for months.
Step 1: start from dated postings
Job boards and aggregators carry the postings; Lockley reads job postings supplied by Adzuna. The date on the posting is what matters. A role posted this week is a live need; a role reposted for ninety days is a different conversation. Filter to the last seven days and the roles you place: pickers, forklift drivers, warehouse operatives, shift supervisors and logistics coordinators.
Note which postings come from agencies rather than employers. If another recruiter has already posted the role, you know the client is working with someone. That is not a reason to skip them, but it changes your opening.
Step 2: group by employer, not by advert
One advert is a vacancy. Five adverts from one employer in a week is a programme of hiring, often a new contract, a peak season or a new site. Count roles per company and rank by that count. Across the index, Lockley counted 284 significant roles posted this week, against 725 the week before (5 to 12 October against 28 September to 5 October 2026, by the date on each record). Weekly totals swing, so judge an employer against its own recent history rather than against the national count.
Step 3: check the company on the register
Search the employer on Companies House. Confirm it is active and read the name of the registered company, as the brand on the advert is often a trading name. Look at recent filings: a new director, a new charge or a change of registered office can all explain a sudden need for staff. A new charge registered against a logistics company, for instance, may point to new vehicles or premises, which is worth asking about on the call.
Step 4: look for a second signal
A posting alone is a weak reason to call because every recruiter can see it. A second dated record makes the call yours. Planning registers show new sites; Contracts Finder and Find a Tender show contract awards; the register shows director changes. Lockley counted 483 new sites this week against 24 the week before, so a warehouse employer with a fresh planning record is relatively unusual and worth the call.
Step 5: open with the record
Say what you saw and when. 'I noticed you have posted four warehouse roles in the last week and a new site was approved in September; are you covering the extra shifts through agency or direct?' is checkable and specific. Avoid asking whether they are hiring; they have just told you they are.
Doing it by hand or with a tool
By hand this takes about twenty minutes per employer, which is fine for five calls a week. If you want a morning list, Lockley gives a small team a short list of UK companies, each with the public record that says why now and a link to the record so you can check it before calling. It does not sell contact lists, so you will still need a number from your own sources.

Search the registered company name on Companies House and confirm it is active.

Lockley counted 284 for 5 to 12 October 2026, against 725 the week before.

No. It gives you the company and the record behind it; it does not sell contact lists.
